General Education
Your liberal education at Appalachian begins with the General Education Program. About one-third of the courses you will take during your college years will be General Education courses from across the university.
Programs of Study and Four Year Guides
Programs of Study, previously known as Checksheets, provide detailed information regarding specific program requirements. Four year guides provide recommended semester-by-semester plans of study for each major. Both are found within the most recent Bulletin (catalog). The Aspire Appalachian co-admission program works with students admitted to the main Appalachian campus from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute, Catawba Valley Community College, Central Piedmont Community College, Davidson-Davie Community College, Gaston College, South Piedmont Community College, Western Piedmont Community College, and Wilkes Community College.
